How To Put A Picture In Alphabets Or How To Make Alphabets Out Of A Picture
1. Open (or get the) GIMP. it is a free program. Go on www.subodhsharma.com to get it.
2. Open the picture (the one you want to get alphabets of). Better make a copy of it so that you don’t loose original just in case)
3. Re-size the picture by scaling it through scale image before you do anything else.
4. Now type the word in which you want the picture.(use black colour for typing if picture is coloured. use any other sharp colour if picture is black and white)
5. Re-size and place the words in the sections of pictures you like to have in the alphabets.
6. Click on the select by colour option in the tool box and then click on any of the black alphabet of your word. (Also click on the windows menu on the top of the gimp program and under doable dialogues, click layers) You will see that the words boundary is now selected and is visible as flashing lines.
7. Now click on the layers menu out of the top menu bar and choose transparency and then add alpha channel.
8. Now click on the eraser tool and increase the eraser scale to do the job faster.
9. Erase the black alphabets you just wrote by this eraser. You will see that only flashing boundary line is visible and rest seems the picture part.
10. Click on the select menu from the top menu bar and choose invert.
11. Now click on the background in the layers dialogue box to highlight the background.
12. Click on the layer menu from the top menu bar then, transparency, then add alpha channel
13. Now Erase the picture. You will see that the picture portion of the alphabets is there and rest of the picture looks like black and white squares.
14. Click on select by colour and click on any black and white square around the word. Now click on edit and then stroke to selection. Change the stroke details as you like and click OK.
15. Select around the word and from image menu of the top menu bar, choose crop to selection.
16. Now save image as .png. it is very important.
